It's tough to say too much without dropping spoilers, but I found the movie well worth the money on my Apple TV account. I paid ~$25 to buy it and keep it in my Apple Library.

If you don't have an Apple account, it's available in theaters, and on Amazon Prime Video. I read somewhere that one of the companies behind the production was part of Netflix, so it may be available on Netflix eventually but was unable to locate my reference again.

A couple of quotes below are kind of spoilers, but are also in the Official Trailer for the move are below.

Tristan Harris, Co-founder of the Center for Humane Technology said in the movie, "Let's be honest. I know people who work on AI risk who don't expect their children to make it to High School."

Elizier Yudkowski, C0-founder of the Machine Intelligence Research Institute, when Daniel Roher said "Your fear of AI is the collapse of humanity," answered "Well not the collapse, the abrupt extermination. There's a difference."

Daniel Roher did a great job of trying to have a balance between optimism and pessimism. My take is that the pessimists were armed with facts. The ones fearing discussed things AI, as it stands now, has actually done, even though it's Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) has a ways to go, and AI isn't smarter than we are yet.

The optimists brought fewer facts to the table and kind of said "We've been through difficult times due to technological advances in the past and we've always made it through." Not a huge comfort to me given the potential down side of super intelligent AI not being aligned with human goals and needs.

My personal hope is that the movie does well, gets wide coverage, and awakens people to the imminent threat super intelligent AI poses and I recommend it if you're interested in hearing some of the top researchers and business owners involved in AI share their perspectives so you can draw your own conclusions.
